Matt 5:9-16 – Blessed Are the Peacemakers (pt2 of 4)

A commission usually refers to a group of people officially authorized by some higher power to perform certain duties and functions on their behalf. Like the US Commission on Civil Rights, or the US Securities and Exchange Commission, or the Federal Trade Commission–these organizations are given federal authority to carry out various functions on behalf of the United States government.…

Matthew 2-3 – True Repentance (pt2 of 4)

We make snap judgments. And in that brief 2 second assessment, we divide people into 1 of 2 categories in relation to ourselves: either I feel superior to you or I feel inferior. We live in a world where the strong survive and the the weak are trampled over.…

1 Cor 3:1-9 – Message Series 1 of 2: The Cross is the Paradigm for Christian Life and Ministry (pt3 of 3)

What kind of kingdom is this? And what kind of king would lead in this way? The kings of this world always dominate, they always looks out for their own self-interests. 1 Corinthians 2 – Resolving to Know Nothing Except the Cross (pt3 of 3)

22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom.

1 and 2 Timothy – Power, Love, Self-Discipline (Part 6 of 7)

Lastly, we are given a spirit of self-discipline. This one is fairly obvious. SELF-discipline so this last component is entirely our responsibility.

God can die for us, he can give us every reason to be compelled by his love, but in the end, he cannot force us to be godly.…
