Today, I want to talk about leadership. Paul says in v16, imitate me because I am your father in Christ. And I want to answer the question, why should we imitate him? Who should we imitate today?…
But they rejected Christ. Jesus came to the lost sheep of Israel and they rejected him and this rejection triggered a shift in the gospel from the Jews to the Gentiles. This is the progressive revelation of God.
And as I was studying this passage, I was reminded of an essay I had to write in seminary.…

Paul is a Jew, yet he was called to be a missionary to the Gentiles. But clearly, he always had a heart for his own people. More than a personal testimony, this chapter and the following chapter serve to show how God’s redemption plan was revealed gradually throughout human history, starting with the Jews and moving later on to the Gentiles.…

Jesus speaks in parables because he is veiling himself and giving us a chance to respond without coercion, but rather in voluntary love and surrender. But there is another reason why Jesus speaks in parables. Here is an excerpt from Mark 4 –
9Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” 10When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables.
