calling God, God calling, are you there?

i have been wondering these days if christians have a generalized calling or a more specific calling.  the food network star winner of 2009 seems to have a calling to cook.  the teacher who coaches the glee club in Glee seems to have a calling.  but what about xians?  does God only give callings to pastors and missionaries?
