Happy New Year (2015)

Happy New Year! I shared briefly last night from Exodus 33. Moses had such an intimate relationship with God. He met God on the mountaintop, in the tent of meeting outside the camp, he had a “face to face” relationship and even saw the unveiled glory of God from the back…

Moses was not primarily interested in doing something for the Lord or even reaching the promised land. Moses wanted his Presence.

In contrast, to the people who are described as stiff-necked, God doesn’t reveal Himself because if He did, He would wipe them out in anger. I thought, even though I ask God to speak, it could be mercy that He doesn’t speak to me clearly because perhaps I’m not ready to listen what He wants to tell me.

Also, it’s so obvious that Joshua was already being groomed to be the next leader because he stayed in the tent of meeting even after Moses left either because he loved His presence, or because he longed to experience the type of intimacy that Moses had with God.

May we all long for His Presence in 2015!
